Zeta Chi Beta Chapter

The Zeta Chi Beta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated was chartered on May 20th, 1972, in Houston, Texas. On the campus of Prairie View A&M University one of nine Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) in Texas. Zeta Chi has the prestigious honor of being the first beta chapter chartered in the Middlesouth Region. In 1972, twenty-one extraordinary women resonated with Chi Eta Phi’s values of character, friendship, and education. All of them had the common goal of becoming nurses after graduation.

 

Through the years, Zeta Chi Beta has honored our motto “Service for Humanity”. Zeta Chi Beta is involved in a multitude of community service projects.Zeta Chi Beta is known for our annual community service events which include Armor 4 Winter Toy Drive, and Pink Goes Red Health Fair. In addition, Zeta Chi Beta places a strong emphasis on elevating the plane of nursing but hosting “Tea Time with the Turtles”. This event is open to all nursing students and each semester advises on how to navigate the upcoming semesters. In addition, recent graduate members also come back and discuss life as a new nurse.

 

In recent years Zeta Chi Beta has made monumental history with the chapter and within the Middle South Region. At the 58th Middle South Regional Conference. Zeta Chi Beta received three awards. Most Membership Intake, Most Beta Members Present, and Recognition for the Star Award. History within our chapter that we recognize is our chapter “Roll Call” which was established in 2019 by Soror Jasmine Craven. In 2022 Zeta Chi Beta had its greatest number of new members which included 19 new Sorors. In 2023 Zeta Chi Beta admitted our greatest number of Fraters with a total of 4.

 

Zeta Chi Beta Chapter recognizes our past and will continue to provide service for humanity and continue to produce productive and extraordinary nurses.
